RIP Steve Jobs October 5, 2011 San Francisco Apple Store Memorial
It was a rainy Autumn morning the day after Steve Jobs passed away in his sleep. As mourners woke to his news, the old Apple store in San Francisco was becoming an impromptu memorial, ironically, of low-tech stick'em messages of grief, sadness, and celebration on the Apple store windows as if it was a spiritual cloud that could reach Jobs himself. They came from around the world as tourists who had been vacationing in the Bay Area took time out from their sightseeing to give their last respects to a visionary who had changed to way we live. Locals rushing to their jobs, stopped and paused as well, trying to process this great lost they were witnessing in real time. RIP Steve Jobs, Ocotber 5, 2011.
This photo was taken at the San Francisco Union Square Apple Store on a sprinkling rainy day at 9:00am on Thursday, October 6, 2011, 1 day after the passing of Steve Jobs. We have surely missed you, Mr. Steve Jobs, RIP. -wingsdomain.com
Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (February 24, 1955 - October 5, 2011) was an American information technology entrepreneur and inventor. He was the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple Inc.; CEO and majority shareholder of Pixar Animation Studios; a member of The Walt Disney Company's board of directors following its acquisition of Pixar; and founder, chairman, and CEO of NeXT Inc. Jobs is widely recognized as a pioneer of the microcomputer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s, along with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Shortly after his death, Jobs's official biographer, Walter Isaacson, described him as a "creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing. -wikipedia
